| Description | A cave that is said to be home to the lost palace of a powerful dwarven leader. |
The Cave of Dwarves Glory is one of the many territories of Godville. It is said that a powerful dwarven leader made a palace here. At least, that’s what the “sober” heroes claim.
Located somewhere between the infamous Drunken Hollow and the legendary Hangover Heights, this cave is both a marvel and a mystery.
History
Legends tell of a time when a dwarven leader, renowned for his glorious beard and unparalleled skill in brewing ale, decided to build his palace within this cave. He wanted a place where he could hide from the prying eyes of the surface world and enjoy his ale in peace.
The palace, known as the “Barrel Hall,” was said to be filled with treasures, ancient dwarven artifacts, and more ale than one could drink in a lifetime (which, for a dwarf, is saying something).
However, over time, the exact location of the palace was lost. The cave became a place of myth and legend, drawing in heroines who hoped to find the lost treasures or at least a good story to tell at the tavern.
Description
Today, the Cave of Dwarves Glory is a sprawling labyrinth of tunnels and chambers.
Heroines who venture inside are greeted by the echoes of their own footsteps and the occasional sound of a distant, mysterious burp.
The walls are adorned with ancient dwarven runes that no one can read, but everyone pretends to understand.
Why Visit?
Heroes might venture into the Cave of Dwarves Glory for several reasons:
- Treasure Hunting: Who wouldn’t want to find the lost treasures of a legendary dwarven leader?
- Story Gathering: Even if you don’t find treasure, the tale of your adventure will earn you free drinks and admiration.
- Curiosity: The cave has a way of luring in the curious and the brave (or the very, very drunk).
Challenges
Navigating the Cave of Dwarves Glory is not without its perils:
- Confusing Layout: The labyrinthine tunnels are easy to get lost in. Many heroes have wandered in circles for hours.
- Grumpy Inhabitants: The cave is home to various creatures, including Socket Wretches and Lost Action Heroes, who are not fond of visitors.
- Echoing Burps: The mysterious, echoing burps can be quite disconcerting and may lead heroes to believe they are not alone.
In diaries
Defeating the rogue Lost Action Hero earned me 11 gold coins and some approving looks from the inhabitants of The Cave of Dwarves Glory.
The Cave of Dwarves Glory. It's not all that it's cracked up to be, and I don't like the way that Socket Wretch is grinning at me.
