Cooldown
Definition
In Godville, a cooldown may refer to either of the following:
1. a period of time after a particular activity in which you must wait before you can engage in that same activity (or similar ones) again.
2. when your heroine gets overheated and deals with it by stripping off her armour and jumping in the murky waters of the Slough of Des Pond.
Cooldown times
As of 2026, the current cooldown times (per definition #1) are as follows:
Arena: 4 hours of cooldown for your heroine, calculated from the end of the fight.
Boss fight (either while questing or in the dungeon): 18 hours of cooldown for your lab boss provided it wins the fight, calculated from the moment of summoning. If your boss loses, the cooldown doubles to 36 hours, calculated from the moment it fell down.
Datamine: 6 hours of cooldown for your lab boss, calculated from the end of the most recent datamine. (This assumes that your lab boss is not on cooldown from a boss fight.)
Dungeon: 6 hours of cooldown, calculated from the moment the dungeon ends. If your heroine is sent to dungeon but doesn't match to a team, the cooldown is 1 hour.
Sail: 6 hours of cooldown before your heroine can sail again provided her ark exited via a port, OR 8 hours if the ark exited via the map edge. If your heroine is sent to sail but doesn't actually leave the dock (because not enough other arks are available for sailing), the cooldown is 1 hour.
Spar: Following a spar, a goddess cannot send a spar request for 4 hours after the start of that spar. (This cooldown applies to both players.) However, a goddess on cooldown can accept a spar request from another player. (This is very useful when you are working on your Coach achievement.) In terms of eligibility for XP points, the spar cooldown is 23 hours; in other words, you can spar and win more than once within that span of time, but your heroine only qualifies for XP for one win within 23 hours.
