Merging equipments articles?

I was wondering if it wouldn't look better if the Equipments articles like Heads, Arms, etc. were merged with the main articles on equipment. Having them separate doesn't contribute to anything and I think it would be better to have most of the information on the same place. --WardPhoenix (talk) 09:29, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

I certainly don't think those articles could be any worse... I mean, check out the last paragraph of Bodies. (Maybe we just "accidentally" lose that bit, when merging the articles.) But, yeah, I definitely agree there's no sense in having an article for each type. Those pages seem to be more relics of the "an article for every topic" period in GodWiki history. Really, a short subsection for each type on Equipment would be more than sufficient. (And the sections could even be titled like they are in the game interface — Weapon, Shield, Head, Body, Arms, Legs, Talisman — instead of the mangled grammar that, unfortunately, we're probably stuck with for the category names, at least for now.) I think it's a great idea. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 18:12, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

Ways to obtain equipment

The reason I'm writing this is because something has changed, or perhaps I'm the only one who's been playing this game for over four years and never experienced this particular way of obtaining equipment.

Everyone knows that when you start your hero's journey, you acquire equipment by purchasing it in town with the gold you've earned.

The next method is rare but has happened to me three or four times while fishing. Instead of receiving a black box or a suitcase for your hero's temple, ark, or boss monster, you might hook an empty line or a new, non-Bold piece of equipment. Most, if not all of this, is detailed in the wiki. However, what I discovered is not yet documented there.

Two days ago, I instructed my hero with a voice command to dig. My hero obeyed, digging before joining another hero to confront a dig boss monster. I decided to repeat the command, "please dig." Sometimes, you'll uncover a treasure chest, but often it's a wasted effort. Feeling lucky, I gave it a shot. After my fourth empty dig command, something unusual occurred—a "+2" appeared in my inventory. I was puzzled because you never dig up two items simultaneously. I must have overlooked something.

Upon inspecting my artifacts, I noticed one labeled "old piece of equipment." Perplexed, I revisited my hero's diary and confirmed that my hero had unearthed a new pair of boots. I assumed it was a mistake since this had never occurred before. Hastily, I scoured the daily newspaper from top to bottom, finding no mention of a new feature for uncovering equipment or any random events aside from the announcement about the GB admin cost coin in the sky, which remained aloft.

As I mentioned, discovering new equipment through fishing is quite rare but possible, typically when your hero levels up and hasn't visited town or lacks sufficient gold for a purchase. The last method of acquiring equipment is by obtaining a coupon from dungeons or newspapers or defeating a dig boss. However, stumbling upon new equipment while digging seems to be a recent development.

Continuing from where I left off, after unearthing a new pair of boots, I joined forces with another hero and defeated the dig boss. Intrigued, I activated a dungeon adventure within minutes of the boss battle. While awaiting a dungeon match, I attempted the dig voice command once more. On the third try, lightning struck twice—two pieces of equipment within 15 minutes! It felt like a record, though I regretted not having the side job port.

Today, I attempted to replicate the feat but had no luck. Later, after receiving an aura of audibility, I tried again with no success. I'm uncertain if it was a glitch or an introduction of a new game feature, as I haven't been able to duplicate the results. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mental vision (talkcontribs) 18:47, 7 May 2024
