Welcome!
Welcome to the Skeatseria Lodge, the guild made for those heroes who truly know the deeper meaning of life in Godville: drinking alcohol! Being a member of our guild means that one has to support the purchase, drinking, and general wasting of money on any and all types of alcoholic beverages. We don't care about our members alignment nor do we do care about our members individual goals. So long as you continue to visit at least one pub each and every time you visit any town, you will fit in perfectly at the Skeatseria Lodge! New members are encouraged to post at our Forum Headquarters to say hello and get involved in guild activities. And all members are encouraged to use Invites to Godville to friend other members of the guild found either at the aforementioned forum headquarters to create more unity within our guild and keep our guild active and rising in the Pantheon of Unity!
If all of this sounds like a place you belong, by all means, join our guild. And be ready to brag about your best drinking accomplishments!
Quitting Quests to Join Other Guilds
Every so often, your hero or heroine will try to leave us and join another guild. This is probably due to excessive drunkenness. It happens. If you leave our guild (or any guild for that matter), you lose your hard-earned rank in your current guild, and start over from scratch in whatever guild you join, thus losing out on bonuses like quicker healing times in town and having a lower possibility of getting free equipment from traders. Plus, guild-joining quests often take multiple days to complete, thus wasting precious regular quest time where you could be earning gold bricks, experience, and - more importantly - money you could be spending on booze!
So remember, to stay in our guild, keep an eye on your current quest and look for when your hero or heroine tries to join another guild. When they do, simply send a voice command to "Stop this quest now!" It may take a few tries, but they should quit the quest, go back to Godville to start a new quest, and - most importantly - stay in the Skeatseria Lodge!
Guild Council
Feel free to participate in pointless chats and discussions in the Guild Council. Beyond pointless chats, here are some great things to post in the Guild Council:
- If you have written chronicles and would like them rated by fellow guild members, post that along with a request - you'll quickly jump into the Pantheon of Storytelling. This could also be posted in the Forum Headquarters for extra attention.
- If you would like other people from the guild to send you invites, post that along with a request for them to do so. No promise that the members will all have invites at the time, but it can't hurt! This could also be posted in the Forum Headquarters for extra attention.
- If your hero just comes across any random alcohol related diary entry, post that to the council just to share! However, any entries about the hero spending money on booze should be saved for the Forum Headquarters so as to make it into the Pantheon of Drunkards!
- If any of your encourages or punishes in town give you a specific guild-influence-raising entry, feel free to post that along with what town it was in, as that affects not just our town influence, but the guild's rank in the Popularity Pantheon!
- If you complete a duel – arena or skirmish – feel free to post those results as they affect our guild's rank in the Aggressiveness Pantheon!
- If you dig up a boss lair and are looking for partners, post the lair entry you got and if anyone reads it soon enough and is at a point where they can dig, maybe they will help out and make sure you pair to get a boss to fight!
- If you are looking for dungeon partners, post to the council before going in so some guildmates can join you!
Guidelines for the Guild Council
The council is meant to be a fun place to chat with the near 60 or so other members of the Skeatseria Lodge guild. As such, there are some general guidelines.
- No vulgarity, profanity, personal attacks, insults, rude or demeaning comments, or anything of the like.
- Remember, about 60 people can read your comments. Do not give out personal information or say anything you wouldn't want read by 60 other people!
- Violations of these guidelines will be met with either a warning or immediate expulsion from the council, depending on the severity of the violation. If you get expelled and would like to get back in, you will need to send an invite to TheGourdGod to explain yourself/convince him that the reason you were expelled will not happen again.
- If you see violations that do not appear to be getting dealt with, rather than post responses in the Council (which tend to just encourage the violator), please send an invite to TheGourdGod and report the violation and it will be dealt with accordingly.
Beerburgh Blitz
07:40: I was trying to spread the word at Beerburgh’s main square, informing the people about my guild, when suddenly thunder boomed and amplified my voice a hundredfold. People here are going to remember the “Skeatseria Lodge” guild for a long time.
07:40: Suddenly, there was news about a golden calf grazing in a field near Beerburgh. Omnipotent One, was that your handiwork? I took this opportunity and declared it a sacred symbol of the “Skeatseria Lodge” guild.
What is it? Our continuing mission/struggle to get the Skeatseria Lodge heavily influenced in Beerburgh, getting our guild members benefits in the town including faster healing, free gifts of artifacts and/or gold, and discounted or free equipment!
Why Beerburgh? Given how much we drink here at the Skeatseria Lodge, it is only appropriate that we start gaining some influence in Beerburgh. The town has ‘beer’ in its name – we should definitely hold influence there!
How can I participate? Anytime you are in Beerburgh, simply encourage or punish your hero (or use miracles) as much as you can (or by using as much gp as you feel comfortable wasting).
Why should I participate? Heroes and heroines receive guild benefits based on a combination of three things: the hero or heroine's guild rank, the guild's influence in town, and the hero or heroine's personal contribution in promoting his or her guild (in other words, how much he or she encourages or punishes or uses a miracle to raise awareness of the guild in town). By participating in the Beerburgh Blitz, you raise both of the last two criteria, making you much more likely to receive guild benefits while in town!
This is hard for us, as we are a smaller guild, but every now and then we pop up with influence in Beerburgh, which is always cause for celebration! Remember, the more dedicated members of our guild that participate in the Beerburgh Blitz, the more influence we will gain in town and the faster we will gain it – meaning more benefits for all members more often! Every encourage, punish, or miracle helps. If you happen to get a diary entry from the encourage or punish featuring our guild name while in Beerburgh (like the two above), post it in our Guild Council to show your proud participation in the Beerburgh Blitz!

- The submitted entry HAS to be about drinking - no pubs with no beer, no meals at taverns and obviously no wishing wells, new coin bags, pet treatments, or the like. Having fun at a bar DOES count as drinking.
- To get on this list, the entry must be posted at our Forum Headquarters.
- One does not have to be a member of the Skeatseria Lodge to get on this list - we accept entries from all guilds as long as they are posted in our forum. Guilds are listed next to the god names.
- Only the highest entry for each person will be listed per pantheon, so no person is listed multiple times in one Pantheon, though they may be listed once in each Pantheon.

- ↑ Funny story about this. My hero’s pet at the time reached level 30, then almost immediately got knocked out. Gaylahad, having established his uselessness when it comes to healing pets, stayed true to form and missed the healing window. Since he hadn’t yet completed his ark (was months away, in fact), I had to have him release the pet and start over with a new one. I can’t even remember its name, honestly.
