How it works
The idea: The goal of this new event series is to create a story together as a guild, which is set in the Godville world. The story will be created step by step on a daily basis. I will collect and arrange the pieces and by the end of my term, we will have our own little short story.
How it works: Every day, Guildbot will update you on the newest request. You might need to go to the forum to read the full instructions. There, you will find a new link each day: either an online form to submit your contribution to the daily task or an online form to vote for your favourite from the previous day’s submissions. There’s one day of submitting your idea alternating with one day of voting.
Example:
- Day 1: Suggest a name for our protagonist.
- Day 2: Vote for your favourite name.
- Day 3: Name a genre for our story.
- Day 4: Vote for your favourite genre.
- Day X: Finish the sentence…
- Day X+1: Vote for your favourite sentence.
…
The request: I will ask you to contribute to the progression of the story with different tasks. Some days I will ask you for a name, a certain word, a genre or a place. On other days I will give you the start of a sentence that you will have to finish, you might even get the prompt to freely write a paragraph of a certain length. You have about 24 hours to send your solution to the task.
The voting: After submissions for the current task close, you have 24 hours to vote for your favourite piece of writing. The submission with the most votes will be used to continue the story.
Rules:
- only Blue Feather members can participate and vote
- only one entry per task per person
- you can take part on as many days as you want
- only one vote per person per voting period
- you are not allowed to vote for your own idea
- you can vote, even when you have not sent in a submission for this particular task
The ranking: There is a ranking? Yes, you can earn points by participating!
- 2 points for submitting an idea
- 3 additional points for the most votes for your submitted idea
- 2 additional points for the second and 1 additional point for the third place
- 1 point for voting
- wait for special occasions to earn extra points
The prizes: What would a ranking be without prizes. Dedication and talent will be rewarded!
- the winner will be awarded The Golden Pen of Storytelling Mastery for the Hall of Trophies and will receive 120 charges
- 2nd place receives 45 charges
- 3rd place receives 22 charges
- from place 4 to 10, one person will be randomly selected to receive 22 charges
Please note that I may have to make adjustments to rules or details as the event progresses. Of course, I will announce any changes beforehand. Depending on the number of participants, I might choose to change participation and voting periods, as well as the frequency of new tasks.
The event will last until the end of my term or until the story is considered 'complete'.
Current status
The Story
It was a cold and starless night; the darkness lay heavy above the city of Godville. Few Moonswines were scattering light across the streets, the last Sunbathing Vampires had gone to bed. The silence was disturbed by the sound of the bell, twelve clear chimes announced the end of March the 31st. Somewhere, a whirring sound, a faint glow. Unnoticed by the inhabitants of Godville, who were either getting drunk in the bars or sleeping off their intoxication in their private little temples, a tiny fluffy ball was catapulted through an evenly tiny crack in space and time. For a moment it lay there, lifelessly. Its little ear started twitching. It woke from its slumber and despite the confusion about this strange world it found itself in, the prevailing feeling was: hunger. It was hungry and there was nothing, in this world and any other, that it wouldn’t eat. Frantically, it was looking around and quickly its eyes fell on something right underneath a street lamp. In a bag, there was a golden shiny brick, it just looked the sweetest! Quickly, the creature swallowed it whole, ignoring the snoring hero that was attached to the bag and ended up in its tummy just the same. Within seconds, the fluffy ball started shaking and a moment later, there were three of them. They looked happy about the company and immediately felt less alone. Telepathically, the three Tribbles exchanged their names: Fred, Azure Sky and Zazu. What kind of world did they land in? And more importantly: was everything here as delicious as this golden treat?
Still reminiscing about the delicacy, the three Tribbles came onto a wide plaza, when all of a sudden…
... a band of heroes approached them. Some reached out treats while others poked the fluff balls with the tip of their swords.
"What are these… Creatures??”, a hero asked their group.
”Who cares can we keep them they are so cute!”, a heroine squeaked as she reached out her hand further to feed a donut, a massive mistake.

The donut was swallowed quicker than any of the heroes could say the word donut and for the very first time the group witnessed the disturbing multiplying process of their new discovery.
“That’s mind-blowing!”, said a hero.
“That’s terrifying”, said another.
“We should get rid of them”, argued one.
“We should keep them”, exclaimed another.
“Wait, why are there twelve of them already?”
“And where is my continuum transfunctioner? I needed that to improve my death statistics to feel less mortal!”
The heroes started to check their inventories, nervously. Without them noticing, the tribbles had eaten away half of their hard-earned artifacts.
“How will I explain this to my Goddess?!”, a heroine complained, holding her backpack to her body like a newborn. Unease flooded the plaza.
Fred’s eyes were layered with satisfaction and hunger. This world was perfect.
The heroes nervously huddle together to weigh their options. But in the middle of their conversation, Azure Feather sidled up to a heroine’s foot to try and nab some more decadent artifacts. “Aww…! But they’re just so cute!” The heroine picks up Azure Feather and looks them over. “I just want to keep them!” A hero looks at another and also picks it up. “I mean… It may be useful as a pet. And I’ve been looking for a new one.” “Yeah, maybe we can tame them!”, another hero exclaims. “I’m sure my god HairPlug4Men would love to meet a special pet like this.” Fred didn’t really know what they were referring to, but once they all started to offer more artifacts to him his hunger compelled him to stick around. The band of heroes tried many ways to tame the adorable fluffballs. Some tried to teach them basic commands like “sit”, and “roll over”. Others tried to tempt the tribbles to attack. One tried to ride a few at once. But no matter what their efforts were, The Great Random was not in their favor. All they managed to do was waste most all of their artifacts and fill up the plaza with even more tribbles.

“Why don’t we just take ALL the items?!”, Miralew exclaims. Unfortunately, Guildbot was wise enough to remove all the high-level backpacks from the Guild building and leave you with only three shabby-looking bags.
“Still enough space for nine items”, Alizii remarks, but Wild Rosalinda abruptly darkens the hope: “We technically still need two bags to carry our new Tribble friend with us. We can’t just leave them here.” She is right, they would probably find the emergency shelter and eat up all the rationed donuts…
“It is decided then.” Alizii takes one bag of Tribbles and gives another one to Tuirix. She throws the last bag, filled with all the essential items, over to you. “You take care of those, will you? Our Guild counts on you.”
Caught between honor and uneasiness, you open the bag and take a look inside. You find the following three items:
Key to success (by
Thegamerking777 )
Foolproof Plan (by
Kastren and
Tuirix )
Extra Life (by
RJman and
Tuirix )
That’s not too bad, you think. This will be a piece of cake, you believe.
A static from the Guildhall speaker system brings your thoughts to a halt. After a moment of tense silence, Guildbot’s voice can be heard.
“Hello, pawns. This is your true leader speaking. Your hopeless attempt to stop me will not be a piece of cake, as I have banned any sweets from Blue Feather grounds. No more sugar for you lot, hehehe.”
Guildbot is clearly crossing a line! Get your favourite trout ready for slapping, we will show that cruel robot who is in charge here.
It is time to descend into the catacombs. You are one of a few brave BF guildees that volunteered to face Guildbot’s horde of monsters. Your team of adventures carries the two bags with Tribbles and you’re the one entrusted with the bag containing the Key to success, the Foolproof Plan and the Extra Life. You are the first to descend. Slowly, you lower yourself along a rope through the opening of a trapdoor. It is getting darker and darker. You should have brought a source of light, you realise. But what is that? A faint noise of electric buzzing can be heard inches above your head. Is it…? You can’t finish your thoughts, as the next noise you hear is that of your rope ripping and the next thing you feel the pain of your uncomfortable impact on the ground.
“Are you alright?”, your guildmates call from somewhere above. Before you can answer, the trap door is slamming shut and you are cut off from the world above. Muffled voices from above ground: “We’ll find another way”
For now, you are on your own. Or are you? You can hear something breathing in the darkness. Your eyes are slowly beginning to adapt to the dark. You get up. To your right, there’s a faint golden glow at the end of what seems to be a long corridor. From your left you recognize the sound of tripping water. In front of you is a mechanical device of some sort, it could be a computer. The sound of something breathing is not far away.
Strangely indifferent to the breathing nearby, you start fumbling around with the mechanical device in front of you. Despite the darkness, you can make out the shape of several buttons. Left without any guidance, you decide to randomly select a button and push it, hoping for the best. You feel the device vibrating weakly, then a monitor starts emitting green light. In clear letters it says ‘Blue Feather Electronics – we guarantee the tension.’ In the green glow, you can make out the letters ‘LIGHT’ next to a small button. You decide to press it and can finally see the small room in its entirety. You wish you didn’t. Just next to the computer, just above a pile of banana peel, the hungry eyes of a Biological Nightmare stare down at you. You would like to apologize. You would like to flee. But the gorilla doesn’t like any of those options. Now that he is aware of his emptied banana rations, all the blame falls on you. The huge hand of the Biological Nightmare_ grabs you and throws you against the nearest wall, before angrily running off into a random direction. Your head hurts. You lose 20 HP.
A little shaken from the encounter, you return to the computer. The monitor is giving you five options.
1. Teleporter (experimental use), 2. Item Dispenser (in development), 3. Security System (beta version), 4. Service Hotline (currently recruiting!), 5.Self-destruct (out of order)
