LocationEdit

Current | Former Current localization of the guild

Fairy Tail's original location was situated in the Kingdom of Fiore, on the southern coast of the country in Magnolia Town where it was the only guild[3] (until the arrival of Twilight Ogre. It was located in the south of the town not far from the coast, and the guild was situated about 4-5 kilometers up the Magnolia central path.[4] When the core members of Fairy Tail disappeared for 7 years, the remaining members could no longer afford to keep Fairy Tail's first building so it went into foreclosure.[5] After they left it, they moved into a small tavern, that lies on top of a small hill, and made it their base of operations.[6] HistoryEdit “ Do fairies really have tails. Do they even exist... Like them this place as eternal mystery... A never ending adventure![7] ”

—Makarov Dreyar about the true meaning of Fairy Tail in "Now We're Even"

It was said that the founder of Fairy Tail guild was a real Fairy.[8] First Master of Fairy Tail was Mavis Vermilion. Mavis' grave is located on Fairy Tail's holy ground, Tenrou Island.[9]

Fairy Tail has existed for at least several decades but has only grown to its current prominence and strength in the last few years. In this growth, it began to rival another large guild, Phantom Lord, and they began to be seen as symbols of the country.[10] When the core members of Fairy Tail disappeared, the guild dropped to last place in strength,[11] however the core members returned seven years later. S-Class Wizard Promotion TrialEdit

In the Fairy Tail Guild, the Trial (S-Class Wizard Promotion Trial) is an event that is held every year, where the Master selects the most prominent members to participate in a trial in order to be promoted to S-Class Mages.[12] Every year the trial is different and the venue also.[13] Current S-Class mages also take part in the Trial, to increase the difficulty of the task and make the Trial even harder to complete.[14] FantasiaEdit

A parade held every year at The Harvest Festival where Fairy Tail Mages all display their powers in a fantastical performance. The event is looked forward to not only by the members of Fairy Tail but by the whole population of Magnolia.[15] Fairy Tail's Farewell CeremonyEdit Erza's Farewell Armor

As a custom for some members, anyone leaving Fairy Tail is given a "ceremony" of sorts.[16] When Laxus was excluded from the guild, he stayed to watch the Fantasia parade where Guild Master Makarov told Laxus through a hand sign that everyone would be looking out for him.[17] When members of Team Natsu have friends that leave to lead their lives elsewhere, the member closest to the leaving friend recites the Three Laws of Fairy Tail.[18]

Three Important Things When You Leave

You must never reveal sensitive information about Fairy Tail to others for as long as you live.[19]
You must never use former contacts met through your being in the guild for personal gain.[20]
Though our paths may have diverged, you must continue to live out your life with all your might, you must never consider your own life to be something insignificant, and you must never forget about your friends for as long as you live.[21]

StrengthEdit

Ultear stated that Fairy Tail is the strongest Guild in Fiore. She also commented that Zeref's retrieval from Tenrou Island could be problematic as Fairy Tail's main members were currently situated there.[22] Later, Lahar of the Magic Council notes that Fairy Tail is one of the three biggest protuberances of the magic world, alongside Grimoire Heart and Zeref.[23] There are around 100 Mages in Fairy Tail.[24]

During the S-Class Wizard Promotion Trial Fairy Tail's Guild Master, S-Class Mages, and all of it's S-Class Candidates disappeared. After that incident, Fairy Tail's strength dropped significantly until the disappearing Mages reappeared 7 years later. Even though the lesser members grew stronger[25], the loss of the core members, did affect Fairy Tail in comparison to guilds like Blue Pegasus and Lamia Scale, whose powers grew exponentially.[26] MembersEdit Most of Fairy Tail's prominent members

In year X784, Fairy Tail was composed by roughly 100 members.[27] However, due to the events of Tenrou Island, the number of Mages was heavily reduced,[28] remaining quite scant even following the return of many of the guild's top members from the island itself, ranking in few tens.[29]

In spite of the guild's immense reputation and fame, becoming a member of Fairy Tail requires little more than the simple approval of the Guild Master, regardless of Magical capabilities, former allegiances or the other members' opinion. This seems to be particularly true, as Makarov Dreyar had no troubles letting in Juvia Lockser, a former Mage of the Phantom Lord guild, which had started a Guild War with Fairy Tail and caused it great damage; Gajeel Redfox, another Mage from Phantom Lord who had badly injured Fairy Tail's Shadow Gear team and wreaked havoc on the guild's first building, was even invited into Fairy Tail by Makarov himself, with the Guild Master claiming that it was his duty to "guide young men who have lost their way back onto the right path".[30]

Mirajane, while talking to Lucy Heartfilia, explained that everyone in Fairy Tail carries the wounds of a sad past.[31] The First Fairy Tail Building is a large, two-story high building that was the headquarters of the Fairy Tail Guild. This building is now in ruin because it was foreclosed because the members of Fairy Tail couldn't afford to keep it with their core members gone, and thus, the building was neglected.[1] Contents [show]

HistoryEdit

Little is known about the history of the building besides the fact that it has at least been here since Purehito was the Guild Master of Fairy Tail. LocalizationEdit Localization of the building

Situated in the Kingdom of Fiore, it lies on the southern coast of the country in Magnolia Town where it was the only guild, until the rise of Twilight Ogre.[2] It is located in the southern part of the town not far from the coast, and lies about 4-5 kilometers up the Magnolia central path.[3] It is located near Fairy Hills and Caldia Cathedral. Original DesignEdit Exterior DesignEdit

Fairy Tail's first headquarters resided in an imposing building consisting of three floors and incorporating several architectonic styles: it took on a shape reminiscent of a pagoda, with each floor being smaller than the one below it and sitting on the latter's roof. The roofs also bore great resemblance to those of real pagoda, consisting of extremely long, arched tiles lined up one after the other and possessing simple curved protrusions jutting upwards on the building's angles. On the highest roof, topping the summit of the building, sat a simple, round and pointed dome, highly reminiscent of those seen on Arabian buildings, which bore a flag on its point. The roof below the one with the dome, the middle one, housed a large banner with Fairy Tail's symbol on it, held up by a pair of vertical poles. The building's large entrance was again Arabian in design, with its shape being reminiscent of that of the dome on the summit, and above it was the guild's name, topped by a protruding, stylized heart shape and flanked by a pair of carved fairies. Stylized heart shapes were also visible on the frames of the numerous, large pentagonal windows located on each floor, with the top floor housing smaller, arched windows partially covered by banners.[4] Interior DesignEdit First FloorEdit

The inside was similar to a large lunch hall, and mainly consisted of wood, possessing a parquet floor and a mezzanine held up by wood beams overlooking it. Several long benches and the related tables stretched across its length with a bar managed by Mirajane at the end. Several other waitresses also assisted her.[5] The request board was located beside the bar. Second FloorEdit S-Class Request Board

The second floor, which was off limits to everyone under S-Class, contained another request board which was dedicated strictly to S-Class Jobs, off-limits to everyone except S-Class Mages.[6] The floor appears to have a few, small round tables and chairs around them for sitting, their are also barrels, crates, and bags in corners around the room.[7] The S-Class Request Board is located on this floor. It is a brown, decorative board that is set off into it's own area of the all, that is adorned by velvet curtains, which are tied with golden sashes.[8] BasementEdit The basement

The guild also had a basement, which had a stone floor and housed several round tables complete with chairs, as well as a number of barrels piled up one on the other and some wooden crates. The walls seemed to consists of cement reinforced with wood beams, and other, coarse wood beams placed vertically held up the ceiling, with smaller ones branching off from them horizontally and connecting them to the walls and to each other. From one of such horizontal beams, facing the stairs leading to the room, hanged a sign reading "Fairy Tail Basement".[9] DestructionEdit Damaged | Destroyed The building damaged by Gajeel

Gajeel Redfox heavily damaged the building, by sending multiple large, iron rods running throughout it. Despite this heavy damage, the building was still functional, although Fairy Tail was only able to safely occupy the basement. It was eventually destroyed by the battering rams used by Jose Porla's Shades, and the building was reduced to nothing more than debris and rubble.[10][11] RebuildingEdit

Once Phantom Lord was defeated, the members of the guild immediately went to the task of rebuilding the guild with Mirajane drawing up crude and nonsensical plans.[12] Once Team Natsu returned from the Tower of Heaven, the building was complete.[13] Current DesignEdit Exterior DesignEdit Outdoor Cafe

It is extravagantly different from the former building: while retaining the pyramid shape of the former building and consisting of three floors, this one strongly resemble a castle in appearance, having battlements on top of its two upper floor, while the ground floor has a more Western-looking roof than the former building, consisting of many small, square tiles of different size. Over the battlements several large torches are lined up. Topping the building and the last floor is a small, tower-like dome containing a large belt, which has a pointed roof made of tiles; two more towers are present at both sides of the entrance, these having elongated glass windows running through them and weathercocks shaped like Fairy Tail's symbol on their tile tops. The front part of the top floor houses a large banner with the guild's insignia on it, while two smaller banners placed at its sides, some meters away from it, bear, respectively, the Magic Council's emblem and an unknown symbol. The top floor seems to be the most bare, while the middle one's front walls are intricately decorated and sport a pair of ornamental windows. The ground floor's roof bears a highly decorative balustrade on its top, and the floor itself possesses many small windows lined up its front walls, together with wood reinforcements, while its edges bear large, rectangular wood beams. Surrounding the headquarters is a fence composed of stone overtopped by decorated railing, with some pillars over-topped by torches on its length and an open gate giving access to the guild, this possessing an upper part covered in tiles, with railing below it, bearing resemblance to an open portcullis, plus a large sign bearing the guild's name, with ornated decorations above it, including a pair of detailed statues of fairies, each wearing a dress and possessing a pair of wings and elongated ears sitting on their heads. In front of the building, inside the fence, is the so called "open air cafe", containing a little over two dozen tables, each complete with a pair of benches at its sides, and with some of them bearing striped beach umbrellas. Souvenir Shop

There is also a small Souvenir Shop to the left of the entrance, composed of bricks and sporting a wood counter, which is run by Max Alors. Lined up the building's sides are two lines of trees; the ones farther from the entrance seem to be way taller than the others, appearing from behind the balustrades of the ground floor; either that, or the first floor itself has plants on its top.[14] Interior DesignEdit First FloorEdit Interior scheme

The first floor greatly resembles that of the old building, but much larger in size, with more tables and benches, as well as several long beams supporting the wooden mezzanines present on both sides of the hall, and a similarly long counter occupying the wall to the right from the entrance. Above it, a large banner bearing both the guild's name and its symbol is visible. The floor is still made of wood, while the upper part of the walls, just below the mezzanines, consists of bricks. When first entering the guild, there is a request board to the immediate right, and an information desk to the immediate left. A few meters in front of them, there are two dozen restaurant tables that stretch across the length of the room. The tables end at a large, wooden stage that has four stair cases behind it on it's left and right sides. Two of the stair cases lead upstairs and two of them lead down stairs. In the upper right hand corner of the guild, there is a rest/shower room. Indoor swimming pool To the right of the restaurant tables, there is a kitchen, and next to the kitchen there is a resting room. Next to that room in the lower right hand corner of the guild is a Data Storage Room. There is a library in the lower left hand corner of the room, and next to that is a waiting room. To the left of that, is a storage room, which is located next to a second rest/shower room. Behind the stage of the guild is a large, interior swimming pool that is decorated to imitate an outside environment, having its edges adorned by plants of various sort, mainly palms and tropical-looking bushes, plus typical sunbeds complete with beach umbrellas. The pool seems to lack a proper springboard, with the guild members seemingly diving into it via some crates piled up one on the other.[15] Second FloorEdit

With the redesign of the building, anyone can now ascend to the second floor, which was previously exclusive to S-Class Mages.[16] BasementEdit Amusement Center

The basement has been turned into an amusement center located downstairs. It is a relatively large room with brick walls, with their lower parts being composed of long, horizontal wooden planks, and a wooden ceiling, with stone pillars carved in the walls sustaining it, and it contains a pool table, dart boards, video games, and other means of entertainment. It also has a few tables for the occupants of the room to eat and drink between playing. In a corner there are several barrels, and attached to a wall is a noticeboard complete with some notices, with more, scattered notices adorning the wall itself.[16] UndergroundEdit Lumen Histoire

Residing deep below the guild is a stone underground passage, consisting of a long spiral staircase, which has been described by Gildarts Clive as "huge". The entrance to such place is secret, and the stairs end in a large, mildly ruined and yet majestic room, possessing columns on its walls and brick arcs, with its carved walls adorned by several Fairy Tail symbols, with a larger one standing on a circular platform in the center of the room, held up by four small bridges and being seemingly suspended above a deep hole. Numerous long banners are attached to the walls and ceiling, and a massive double door is located on the other side of the room from the entrance. This seems to be usually kept closed by a large, Magical glyph floating in front of it, which was shown being undone by Makarov Dreyar. Behind such door is Lumen Histoire. This secret is only known by Fairy Tail's Master and is passed on to each new one successively. Purehito showed it to Makarov when he became Master, and in turn he showed it to Gildarts Clive when he wanted him to be next Fairy Tail Master.[17] Notable EventsEdit

Early ConceptEdit Early sketches of the guild.

The design of the guild building itself went through many stages of development. Initial development had a much more elaborate interior and several more floors. This more detailed interior was eventually simplified as it was felt that it would distract from the many odd characters dotted around the guild.[18] The Second Fairy Tail Building is a small run-down tavern, currently acting as the Fairy Tail Guild's headquarters. Contents [show]

HistoryEdit

When the core members of Fairy Tail disappeared for 7 years, the guild fell into near bankruptcy and could no longer afford to keep Fairy Tail's first building so it went into foreclosure.[1] After they left it, they moved into a small tavern at the edge of the town and made it their base of operations.[2] LocalizationEdit Current localization of the guild

Situated in the Kingdom of Fiore, it lies on the southern coast of the country in Magnolia Town on the top of a small hill, near mountains and in a woody area. As evident of Fairy Tail's loss in power, the headquarters are now quite away from Magnolia's center, which used to house the guild.[2] Exterior DesignEdit

Fairy Tail's second headquarters is way smaller than the previous buildings and, mirroring the guild's condition during the absence of Tenrou Team, is somewhat ruined. It takes the form of a small tavern with one floor, with its walls being mainly composed of bricks, bearing visible cracks here and there and having some of its parts covered by vine, while some wood beams enforce the structure in its upper part. In front of the building's wooden doors is a large archway composed of massive beams; half way up its length is a pyramidal sign with Fairy Tail's name on it, with very long edges going past the beams holding it up, topped and paired with a large Fairy Tail symbol. The building's roof is pitched, and from its front, central part sprouts a small tower, yet again bearing a dark banner with the guild's symbol on it, just below a small, tiled roof flanked by a pair of windows. At each of such windows' outer side is a banner, attached to a pole horizontally sprouting from the building. In its upper part, the tower takes on the shape of a windmill with tattered and torn sails. The building's wooden, double door is flanked by a pair of large, pentagon-shaped windows, with the frame of each one protruding on it and taking on a stylized heart shape; something which is highly reminiscent of the guild's first headquarters.[3]

The building is located on top of a small hill, and can be reached via a staircase composed of large, flat stones, and flanked by two lines of similarly flat rocks. Two rough pillars of stone are located before the stairs, with the one on its right, the taller, having a small doll sitting near its top. The stairs are flanked by large rocks and by several small bushes; on the left sits a sign reading "Fairy Tail", together with the guild's symbol. Behind the guild's building seems to be a forest, and the headquarters is surrounded by several palms, with a pair of open-air sheds sitting on its left.[3] Interior DesignEdit The interior design of the second building.

The inside of the building highly resembles a small restaurant or pub, mainly constructed of wood. The room possesses a stone floor, and several small, round tables are scattered across it, paired with some chairs. In the right side of the room is a bar counter, complete with a sink and several bottles, which has a wooden platform in front of it, with some more tables and chairs sitting on it, plus some round bar stools by the counter. Behind it is a staircase, with its landing sitting on the only structure of bricks in the inner part of the building, a massive, rectangular column. Leaning against the walls are some bookshelves packed full of books, and at the entrance's sides are a pair of plants kept in jars. Some lamps are attached to the pillars adjacent to the walls; one of such walls is covered in a variety of frames, of different size and shape, seemingly housing pictures. Despite the continuous raids at the hands of the rival Twilight Ogre guild's thugs, which seem to leave the building's furniture heavily damaged,[4] the interior doesn't seem to change from time to time, being simply restored to its previous state.[5] Fairy Hills is Fairy Tail's female dormitory,[1] where most of the women of the guild live. Renting and FeesEdit

The rent is 100,000 Jewel.png a month but girls can have multiple rooms so the rent can increase from there. Discounts are not possible.[2] AuthorityEdit

The current owner of Fairy Hills is Ruchio, the father of the Fairy Tail Mage Chico=C=Hammitt.[3] The former keeper of Fairy Hills was Hilda, who died six years prior to the current storyline, when she was on her way back from shopping in Shirotsume Town.[4] Duties of the matron have fallen on Erza Scarlet for the time being.[5Fairy Tail's Souvenir Shop is an addition which the guild received after the original building was destroyed during the Guild War against Phantom Lord.[1][2] Contents [show]

OverviewEdit

This place, as the name itself suggests, is a small shop selling a number of souvenirs related to the Fairy Tail guild.[3][4] Before the events of Tenrou Island, which resulted in Fairy Tail moving its headquarters out of Magnolia Town,[5] it was ran by Max Alors.[6] LocationEdit

The Souvenir Shop is located just outside of the guild's entrance, to the latter's right, with some of the tables adorning the front courtyard sitting nearby.[7] DesignEdit

The Souvenir Shop takes the form of a modest, small square-shaped shed, composed of stone in the lower part and of bricks from its central part upwards, with wooden beams enforcing the structure on the edges. On its front opens a square window, framed by beams, which is topped by a sign identifying the shed as a shop, and some of the merchandise is displayed in wooden shelves placed below the hollow window, complete with tags showing the objects' names and prices. To the window's left is a panel with a trapezoidal upper side, which has T-shirts hanging from it.[7] Items SoldEdit Most PopularEdit The Top 5 Most Popular Souvenir

Fairy Tail Member Figurines: The most popular item sold in the shop, these are small, seemingly true to reality reproductions of some of Fairy Tail's Mages. Such range of items includes, but is not likely limited to, Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet and Makarov Dreyar. They seem to be composed of plastic, as Erza complained about the lack of a metallic armor for hers, and some can have their clothes removed. Among all the figurines sold, for some reason, Lucy's (Cloth to Swimsuit Model) is the most popular.[4] Price: 3.000 Jewel.png[8]
Fairy Tail Chocolate: Chocolate in the shape of Fairy Tail's symbol, sold in boxes adorned by an image of the guild's building. The chocolate contains a small quantity of Magic, enabling the eater to recover a bit of stamina and relax his/her exhausted body.[4]
Keychains: Keychains in the shape of Fairy Tail's symbol. They can change into three different shapes with a bit of Magic.[4]
T-Shirts: Over 30 different designs of Fairy Tail-based T-shirts. The color of such shirts can be changed with ColorS Magic.[4]
Fairy Tail Lacrima: Small, round Lacrima crystals, some adorned by Fairy Tail's symbol and others, noticeably darker, by protruding crystalline formations, which can give a feel of how the Magic of some of the Fairy Tail members work. Erza Scarlet's Requip Lacrima is especially popular, creating a projection of her Magic.[4] Price: 10.000 Jewel.png[2] Tenrou Island (天狼島, Tenrō Jima lit. Heaven Wolf Island) is the holy ground of the Fairy Tail guild. X784's S-Class Wizard Promotion Trial was held on this island.[1] It is also the resting place of Fairy Tail's first Guild Master, Mavis Vermilion.[2]

Climate and AreaEdit People affected by the island's heat

Tenrou Island, located in blue water, far from the mainland's coast, is well-known for its summer-hot climate, not affected by other climates and weather systems on the mainland. Cana Alberona noted this is because of clashing currents present in the area, which keep temperatures high all year long.[3] BarrierEdit

According to Doranbolt, Tenrou Island is usually hidden by a strong barrier, which makes it impossible to find no matter what Magic is used; its purpose is said to be protecting Mavis Vermilion's resting place from possible intruders.[4] Magic and AbilitiesEdit

The Great Tenrou Tree sinking its roots in the center of the island bestows divine protection upon those bearing the Fairy Tail crest, making it so that they cannot die while on the island, while at the same time enhancing their Magic Power. Such effects would be nullified in the unlikely case that the tree was destroyed.[5] GeographyEdit Tenrou Island's location

Tenrou Island stands alone in the middle of the sea, with no other isles visible in the surrounding area. It is a mildly small, rocky and steep island covered by lush vegetation, both bright yellow[6] and green in color.[7] One side of the island is shown to be particular rocky, possessing large formations jutting outwards from the ground, one near the shore, protruding above the sea, and the other near the center of the island, overlooking it; the latter has a pair of waterfalls falling down from it in a small lake below. Topping such second rocky formation stands the most distinctive element of the island: the Great Tenrou Tree, a gigantic tree with a gnarled, mildly curved trunk, ending in a number of large branches which sustain something that has been described as being similar to "an island on top of an island", being a large, flat section composed of earth and crowded by a multitude of normal-sized trees.[2] Such gargantuan plant possesses a multitude of similarly large, curved and twisted roots, which right below the trunk sustain massive lumps of earth; something which creates some sort of covered area right below the tree itself.[8] GalleriesEdit

A bare rocky bay is present along the shores of the island, where no trees are present, but many large roots are shown crowding the rocks overlooking a clearing,[9] where eight galleries open, leading, through a cave system consisting of an identical number of caves, with four of them converging together in two pairs to create single pathways,[10] to the inner part of the island, to a glade, flanked by trees and palms,[11] where a waterfall is present.[12] This place acted as the starting point for X784's S-Class Wizard Promotion Trial, with all of the galleries being marked by a letter from "A" to "H", and back then was marked by the smoke coming from a pile of trunks ordinately disposed in a square shape to generate a massive brazier.[13] The galleries' layout

The gallery marked by the letter "C" leads to a marine cave joining it with another route, with a sandy ground, stalactites hanging from the ceiling and corals adorning the rocky sections. The ceiling sports several holes, lighting up the place alongside the number of firefly-like beings floating in the area, which during the Exam had a large banner bearing the kanji for "Fight" hanging from two stalactites,[14] and a wooden portcullis blocking the way to the joint gallery leading out;[15] this would have been opened only after the loss of one of the two competing teams fighting in the cave. The gallery marked by the letter "E" instead leads to a cave which, aside from stalactites, has a multitude of natural rocky pillars going from the ground to the ceiling. Blooming vegetation grows here, in the form of grass, bushes, corals, cactus-like plants and lianas.[16] Holes in the ceiling are present here as well.[17] Path "D" instead leads to an artificial, ancient-looking tunnel made of stone, covered in moss and having roots from the trees above appear here and there from the ceiling. Stone statues reminiscent of totems are lined up the walls. Gallery "A" leads to an open-air beach, with trees and bushes flanking it.[18] Another route is shown leading to a cave with large holes on the walls, similar to rough windows, and a number of stalagmites and stalactites adorning it; polka-dotted mushrooms, somehow reminiscent of amanita muscaria with inverted color schemes, are also present.[19] First Guild Master's GraveEdit Mavis Vermilion's grave

The grave of the first Guild Master of the Fairy Tail guild, Mavis Vermilion can be found through a gallery branching off from the cave marked by the letter "E"[20][21] in a small clearing surrounded by thick vegetation. This is a large and yet sober structure composed of light stone, with a series of three rectangular steps, flanked by four small pillars with square sections, one sitting at each edge, being topped by a pair of vertically-placed, flat carved stones, with small geometrical parts jutting upwards on each summit, on the side nearest to the other stone, and a circular hole being generated by two carved semicircles present on each stone's inner side. Vegetation has grown throughout the structure due to its age, with small plants and moss covering it here and there. Sitting at the grave's sides are two simple, short rectangular stones, similarly covered in vegetation, and leading to it is a pathway consisting of several small, flat stones placed one near the other without an accurate order. In front of the structure, to the pathway's right, is the section of a short metal fence, with the top edges of its poles shaped like rough Fleur-de-lis.[22] Rest SpaceEdit Rest Space

During X784's S-Class Trial, a shelter was built in a certain area to act as a meeting and relaxing space for the Fairy Tail members not actively taking part in the exam. In a glade, a large pavillion with a square base was erected, this possessing plain walls but a pointed roof covered in vertical dark and light stripes, getting smaller near the pointy summit, and triangular sections hanging over the lower part from the roof, with each section hanging from a stripe with a color different from its own. More triangular sections, all light in color, were shown sprouting from below such upper ones; the pavillion had each of its edges linked to the ground by a rope connected to a stake planted in the ground itself, and access to it was given by a rectangular door which could be closed by a cloth door, usually kept folded above the door to keep it open. To the left from the pavillion's entrance was a high pole, which had a light banner bearing a dark Fairy Tail symbol, with a multitude of thin strips hanging from its lower edge, secured to it by a rope, which sustained its upper edges passing through a pair of small holes in it; not far from the pole is a pile of large logs, held in place by ropes, with a large board being leaned against it. Sitting by the pavillion's other side is an open-air structure, with a large and puffy cloth roof and a multitude of thin strips hanging from its lower edges, held up by four poles at its angles. Below such roof are a large oven made of stone, flanked by a number of crates piled one on the other and by barrels, and several pieces of furniture which seem to be carved into short, cut trunks: sitting around three trunks acting as tables, which, curiously enough, are held up by four thin limb-likes branches below it, is a number of smaller trunks acting as seats. Each table bears a short, decorative flowerpot in its center.[23] RuinsEdit

The island houses some ruins, seemingly the remains of ancient buildings, something which implies at past, consistent human presence on the island. Cracked sections of stone wall, column capitals and stone architraves seem to be scattered here and there in a certain area, all decorated by a series of intricate, tribal-looking motifs; a stone road, although largely covered by grass, is also present among the ruins,[24] which also include almost intact buildings, still retaining arched windows with decorated frames and stone carvings on the walls.[25] Some of such ruins, distinguished by large arches, are located along a rocky wall facing the sea and the coast, while a lighthouse-like structure, consisting of a tower flanked by some minor buildings near it, sits not far from the elevated platform of rock housing the Tenrou Tree.[26] ForestEdit

Aside from the lush vegetation covering most of it, an extremely thick forest is also present on the island, crowded with large, gnarled and twisted trees with large roots, which are covered in moss, and whose branches almost create a natural roof preventing sunlight from lighting up the place, which as a result is darker than other parts of the island.[27] Condition RedEdit The object used to activate Condition Red

During Promotion Trials which take place on the island, a signal is established, which, if activated, temporarily puts the exam itself on hold. Such incidence caused by an unlikely enemy attack on the island, is communicated throughout the island by the firing of a red signal blast at the hands of one of the Fairy Tail Mages, activating the so-called Condition Red, which prompts all of the guild members present on the island at the time to ready for battle.[28][29] Such occurrence seems to be known to all Fairy Tail members, and is not specified before the exam itself, as shown when Doranbolt, a spy from the Magic Council participating in the Exam while pretending to be a Fairy Tail Mage, had no idea what the signal meant.[30] Notable EventsEdit The Great Tenrou Tree falls

Tenrou Island was set to be the stage of the Fairy Tail guild's S-Class Wizard Promotion Trial in year X781. The First Exam took place,[31] but the Second one was interrupted by the sudden attack of the Dark Guild Grimoire Heart, which wanted to unseal the Dark Mage Zeref, who was located on the island, in a sleeping state.[32] Following the defeat of many noteworthy members on both sides, including Makarov Dreyar,[33] and the felling of the Great Tenrou Tree at Azuma's hands,[34] a damage which was subsequently repaired by Ultear Milkovich's Arc of Time Magic,[35] Fairy Tail's Team Natsu and some of its allies managed to defeat Hades, the Guild Master of Grimoire Heart as well as Fairy Tail's Second Master, putting an end to the conflict.[36] Tenrou Island inside Fairy Sphere

Fairy Tail, however, didn't have time to rejoice in victory: moments after the conclusion of the Guild War, Tenrou Island was attacked by Acnologia, the Black Dragon in the Book of Apocalypse,[37] which seemingly destroyed it with its roar, making it disappear in an enormous crater of water. The waters surrounding the island were searched for half an year, with no result, and seven long years passed afterwards.[38] In year X791, however, Tenrou Island was revealed to be still existing:[39] the spirit of Fairy Tail's first Master Mavis Vermilion had employed the guild members' bonds and faith to cast Fairy Sphere, a spell which completely protected the island and those on it, at the same time preventing them from aging.[40]
