From some weird language, Dutch I think, wâer describes the true, the real, the authentic.  That's what some of our members fancy themselves.  Others think the name is a half anagram of sorts, like W.A.er.  Only the founder of the guild really knows what it means but he's a blind deaf mute with no hands.  So, it can mean whatever you want it to mean, as long as you pay your dues and keep your nose clean.

Wise old codgers once said make love, not war. Well, they never said anything about WAer, and rightfully so, because they knew what would happen to them if they did. So you can make love and WAer. Or just WAer. Or just love I guess. Don't be so binary.
