So, if there's demand for it, we can make a documentation subpage with example colour schemes, giving folks some samplers to choose from, or start with, or mix-and-match, etc.
So, I have found a super hacky way to change the color of link text, but it's not at all certain that everyone will see the same thing. I need your help testing it.
You can help by looking at the following sections of text:
- 1: gummy wyrm
- 3a and 3b:
- 4a and 4b:
If the technique works, the links above should be white on a black background; if not, they'll be dark blue on black, and almost impossible to read.
If it works, this hack is super limited. It should work on any browser except Internet Explorer (compatibility here), and it will only work with links to redirect pages, not links directly to the page. I know, I know, very strange, but :waves wands: CSS stuff.
What I would like is for you to add below what browser or app you've used to look at the text, and confirm that it was (or wasn't) successful (use the numbers if some but not all cases worked).
Myself, I've checked on latest versions of:
- Chrome for Windows
- Edge for Windows
- Godville for Android
- Chrome for Android
- Firefox and Firefox Focus for Android
- Brave for Android
All listed are working. (I'm particularly interested to confirm iOS apps, Safari, and Samsung browser if possible.) If the tests are successful, I'll update the docs with the details of the technique. -- Djonni (talk) 12:54, 27 December 2019 (UTC)
- UPDATE: I've just noticed that this actually only works for unfollowed redirect links... Back to the drawing board.
