Talk:List of Monsters
This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the List of Monsters article.
Should this be titled List of Monsters? (with a capital M). The List of Skills has a capital S. Can we be consistent? --BlueStapler 06:35, 4 October 2012 (BST)
It isn't that important. If you want to rename it so that its standardized, do so. --Spode 19:54, 4 October 2012 (BST)
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to add monsters to this list? I can currently add about 500 monsters to this list, but I don't want to manually insert each one and format 4 to a row. Is there a program that can format everything for me automatically? --BlueStapler (talk) 22:58, 25 September 2013 (BST)
Justification for my recent change to the Healing prefix: After checking my loot bag and confiscating all healing items, the Healing Mediogre told me to go away and bring in some more. --Apathanos
LoM was fine for your uses really. 4 Columns presents more information and is much easier to "see" what is on the list rather than a continuous list.
Felai, I appreciate your edits, but the issue here is how does someone with limited wiki skills add content to the 4 column format? With the single column format, anyone with limited skills can easily add a single monster. Please do not format wiki pages so that they are difficult to add content to. --BlueStapler (talk) 03:41, 31 October 2013 (GMT)
Felai, as further evidence that the 4 column format simply does not work, I point to the List of Artifacts page. Over the past month, many items have been added to the List of Artifacts page while nothing has been added to this page. Moreover, many of the List of Artifacts additions were made by people who have never edited anything on the Godwiki. We must encourage all people to add to the wiki and not make pages that are so complicatedly formatted that no one wants to make additions. Seeing as you have not provided an answer of how to easily edit this page after (1) I asked that question and you posted here and (2) I asked that question again, I'm going to assume that there is no easy way to add monsters to this list. The next time I make a significant edit to this page, I'm going to change it to a single column format. --BlueStapler (talk) 08:59, 19 November 2013 (GMT)
Am I correct in assuming these were phased out of the game at some point in history? Can these be archived here and retired from the page? There's no search feature on the blog (idea submitted!), but I sure don't recall seeing these within the last... few years? Have I just missed these monsters? --Djonni (talk) 09:08, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- I'm fairly sure some generic adjectives are (at least) sometimes still used on boss monsters, alongside / in addition to the "meaningful" adjectives. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 11:14, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- Ditto Poisonous Unicorndog and Unicorndog, I believe the Poisonous variant is an error. No mentions of the poisonous variation on the forums; it hasn't appeared in the crossword. Not gonna hunt down the addition dates, just going to remove from OL and LoM. --Djonni (talk) 17:46, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
Glowing monsters and existing auras
Gives an aura to hero when defeated if one is not already present (any existing aura is unaffected)
...is anyone able to confirm whether that's always the case? (I don't doubt Cham Almighty in the slightest, just exploring whether the mechanics always function in the same manner.) Possible wrinkles could be: (1) the decision on whether to replace an existing aura is randomized; (2) the monster sometimes grants the same aura as the existing one, making it appear unchanged. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 09:57, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
