Godville's Got Skills

About

Did you know that outside our regular divine duties, many fellow gods and goddesses are very much amazing artists, musicians, and creatives of all kinds? This is a show to expose, support, and celebrate all that is Godville and the Godville community's hidden talents! We hold an open drive for all GV-related original content for 20 days, and a pool of winners are handsomely rewarded!

During the 2018 Season One of the Godville Talent Show, we received 28 entries, from which 5 were selected by the judges into the winners' pool, and 191 public votes decided the final placement. A total of 937 charges were rewarded as well as $150 donated to charity!

During the 2019 Season Two of the Godville Talent Show, we received 25 entries, from which 7 were selected by the judges into the winner's pool plus 2 honorable mentions, and 132 public votes decided the final placement. The Godville developers supported us 1000 charges in rewards, and we raised a total of $360 toward different charities (Doctors Without Borders, Smile Train, and A Breath of Hope, just to name a few)!

Current prize pool:

$100 by Hairplug4men, good for 500 charges!
$50 by Harbinger of War, good for 250 charges!
$25 by ShinyBunnyTwo7, good for 120 charges!

1st place: 370 charges (or $75 towards charity!)
2nd place: 250 charges (or $50 towards charity!)
3rd place: 120 charges (or $25 towards charity!)
4th place: 67 charges (or $15 towards charity!)
5th place: 45 charges (or $10 towards charity!)

Winners also have the choice of transferring their charge reward to another deity, or having the equivalent dollar amount donated to a charity of their choice instead (go.fund.me or other online charity).

Rules

One submission per user, 100% original pieces only. No copyright infringement. You can definitely submit something with multiple people (if you're okay with the reward being split), but if you want to do something with a large group it's recommended to consult with the judges in the forum thread first.
Just taking another piece and tweaking it a bit does not make it yours.

Contest Categories

Writing

Under 1000 words. Can be a short story, poem, haiku, instructions on how to build a golden parachute, etc.

Points for creativity, grammar, originality, and relation to Godville.

Art

Can be traditional and/or digital. Drawing, painting, comics, pancakes, etc.

Points for originality, creativity, skill level, and relation to Godville.

Audio/Video

Can be a song, short film, animation, etc.

Points for originality, creativity, skill level, and relation to Godville.

Other

Surprise us!

Anything original - achieving something in game, marrying your Godville sweetheart in real life, getting a GV tattoo, etc.

Points for wow factor in relation to Godville.
