Changes to the Hero template which will affect you

Hi there Trob!

You appear to have been inactive for a couple of years, but I wanted to tell you about a change we are going to make to Template:Hero which will affect you in a way that I'm not sure how to fix for you.

We are fixing a bug with the way that the Hero template creates links for the |god= parameter, so that they point to the real user page of a God. On your page at The Ballads of Troubledsoul25, you have set the parameter this way:

| god = Trob

which, cleverly, tricks the wiki into creating a link to your Godville page, rather than what the Template tries to do, which is create a link to Trob. Well, we're changing it so that it will try to create a link to User:Trob instead. This will mean your clever link will get messed up, as it will now be trying to point to User:, which is obviously nonsense.

I don't want to try to "fix" this for you, but my advice would be to simply make your Hero template say |god=Trob, and then add this: {{god|Trob}} to your page at User:Trob, which will create a nicely formatted link to your Godville page like this: GodTrob .

And if you do see this message, welcome back to Godville and the Godwiki! If you have any questions or need any help with this, please don't hesitate to ask. You can go to our Help:Requests page and ask for help and advice, or you can leave a message directly for me at User talk:Djonni. -- Djonni (talk) 07:31, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
