Waaaait... is this just a monster type?

I keep forgetting this infobox even exists (especially since it's only used on one wiki article, Ninja-starfish), and since my hero doesn't sail I'm not real up on what a "beastie" even is. But... it sounds like it's just a monster type that's encountered at sea?

What I'm getting at is, rather than re-developing this as an {{Infobox}}-based infobox, should it just be a fourth mode for {{Monster}}? The parameters sure are all the same. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 03:21, 8 January 2019 (UTC)

Yes, it would be better as a fourth monster mode. Sea beasties are closer to bosses, since you can choose to fight them or not, but are functionally more like field monsters because there is no "duel" dialogue for them.
I can't think of a single reason they should be a completely separate inforbox. -- SourceRunner (talk) 04:43, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
Yep, I completely agree. It should use {{monster}}.
This isn't even complete, now that I think on it. Beasties come in two flavours, "One named beastie" or "Two named beastie". So |beastie=yes/no and |names=1/2, I guess. -- Djonni (talk) 05:18, 8 January 2019 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Tick.png Done Implemented as {{Monster|sea=yes|names=1/one,2/two}}. Template:Beastie marked as deprecated. Ninja-starfish article updated accordingly. (Anyone know what type that is, BTW — one-name or two-name?) -- FeRDNYC (talk) 13:23, 8 January 2019 (UTC)

Ninja-starfish seems to be a single named beastie (not marked in bold like the Iron Mermaiden. -- S624 (talk) 20:44, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
Nice, thanks for tracking that down! -- FeRDNYC (talk) 23:33, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
