Hawkers
,→Limitations
A Hawker (also known as a Roadside trader) is a vendor of merchandise that can be easily transported; the term is roughly synonymous with "peddler" or "costermonger." These traders never liked the competition with surrounding traders while working in bustling towns, so they decided that the best way to increase their profit was to remove any competition. However, due to their lack of toughness, they decided that they would instead remove themselves from the competition since this option didn't require any brawling, and they thus set out to lead a nomadic lifestyle. They now roam the land of Godville, setting up their tents wherever they have detected gullible travelers passing by.
Hawkers carry a lot of heavy merchandise around with them so they prefer to appear out of nowhere at unmarked milestones so that they don't have to drag their stuff around for too long. Hawkers are greatly hated by heroes or heroines and gods or goddesses alike for when a hero stops by at a hawker's shop, it is as if they are stopping at a small town.
Encountering a hawker
Heroes or Heroines who stop off at a hawker's tent do not pray, are not healed (though will buy healing supplies) and worst of all, can be idly stuck chatting with the hawker for around half an hour (even an hour in some cases,) giving a wandering master enough time to get the hero or heroine's hard-earned money gold coins on a measly skill upgrade. Needless to say, gods or goddesses do not appreciate their time and/or effort being wasted like this. The only consolation is that a hero or heroine lucky enough to be taken in while their inventory is bulging with loot can expect to make a lot more money than usual, as if they visited the town of Tradeburg. Heroes or Heroines also can take advantage of the hawker's brilliant bargains, getting discounts on equipment and healing supplies, but not on skills - that's not the hawker's expertise.
Although it's rare, but some days could have the roadside traders go on strike, meaning they will not appear at all outside of towns.
Limitations
Note that like regular traders, they won't buy tribbles off of heroes or heroines but unlike the same town traders, they won't buy boss-monster parts that could be used for the hero or heroine's lab, regardless of whether he or she has one or not - which is superb after one too many complaints of angry gods or goddesses of having their wills being crushed as for the parts to have never made it to the creation of their very own boss.
They also won't buy proofs of monsters whom are Wanted, since they are roadside traders, not roadside hunters and even if they were, they never return to a town.
