The do not tamper sign should probably be changed to include information on Rule #7 stating that users shall not create articles in this category. Additionally, according to the rule, no one can edit articles in this category because permission from an appropriate moderator is required, but this wiki does not have moderators. --BlueStapler 10:05, 4 October 2012 (BST)

You are being too literal again. stop trying to find loopholes in everything. everyone knows that me and a few others (who have helped me at various times) are the unofficial moderators (well the others were and then became completely inactive). by that, i mean that we have not got moderator permissions on the wiki: nobody has and nobody will ever. however, at the very beginning when you hadnt even heard of godville, i sent a suggestion for mods, they approved etc etc long story short, im the mod. Its not such a big job as you make out. I tell the admin when someone has seriously misbehaved (persistent spammers, vandals, any kind of trouble) and they trust what i say and help get it sorted with whatever tools they have although sometimes they cant and tell me that i have to do it myself. The main thing is just to make sure the wiki stays looking nice and pleasant to read. if you want to edit a template, tell me what edit you want to make and supply the reason for doing so. do it by PM, ill know to listen to you. If i say 'yes' then you can go ahead. --Spode 19:49, 4 October 2012 (BST)

Spode Can You add some templates to add to our user pages if you dont mind and also can please add a stub template or something like that just saying ---Hanz24 (talk) 16:16, 21 April 2016 (UTC)hanz24

There is a stub template available in the Godwiki: {{stub}}. Check Template:Stub for more information. Adding it to a page will insert a boilerplate stub notice, and add it to Category:Stubs. --Djonni (talk) 09:05, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

Transclusion of Template page

Hrm.

I don't love the transclusion of the entire Template page here. I like the idea of giving users more help, and I'm all for finding ways to do that, but this particular method has some down sides:

  1. Templates is looooong, plain and simple. I mean, it's not long as a page, but it's long as a category header. Long enough that the actual list of pages in the category is completely off the bottom of my screen, now.

  2. There's a lot of information in there that isn't critical as an introduction to the category. People happening across this category page don't need to know about {{Tl}}. Or that there are template-namespace templates. Or that there's an under-construction template.
(...Also, I hate under-construction templates. The. Entire. Web. Is. Always. Under. Construction.)

It represents this utterly different philosophy that you need to know that this site is under construction, it's not done yet. Now, we know all sites are not done. If your site is done, something is wrong. It’s bad. You’re either out of money or you’re boring.

At least they're not animated anymore.

  3. The link to Templates is actually quite confusing, because when you're reading Category:Templates and you click the link, you end up at... seemingly the same page, for the most part. But slightly different. It's not clear why you'd have been linked there.

Maybe there's a better way we can help the n00bs, without inconveniencing the regulars? -- FeRDNYC (talk) 16:58, 26 August 2018 (UTC)

It's true, it's a lot more than is needed, now that I look again. I think I touched up Templates and realised how poor the category header was and it seemed easier than doing more thinking ;)
Perhaps it just needs a small part of that info (not transcluded) and a clear link to More info about Templates. I'll take another look later today if nobody beats me to it.--Djonni (talk) 17:09, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
