Here you can request editing assistance from other wiki users who have volunteered to assist. (Stressed because nobody is obligated to provide assistance, and there are no guarantees of assistance. So, be polite and be appreciative!)

Instructions: Add a link below to the article you'd like help with, or just give the name if you don't know how to create a link, and (optionally) provide some brief details about what sort of help you need. Someone will take a look and see what they can do to help out.

Writing help

(Requests for copy-editing, grammar, spelling, or other English language assistance.)

  • Meowntain Cat -- writing complete, got hard time finishing that one, hope it will be okayish enough! In great needs of review (and maybe patting) and as always, thanks in advance! -- WardPhoenix (talk) 20:14, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
On it. -- S624 (talk) 20:16, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

Wiki coding help

(Requests for assistance with wikicode in articles: Creating links, adding images, using {{templates}}, etc.)

  • Help Item: In the Android interfaces, the "Contents" headings are gone, but when I remove the Creation/Review tags, the articles with pictures lose display of the headings between the introductory paragraph and the first body section. The Punk Panther is the latest afflicted with this issue. What do I do about that? -- SourceRunner (talk) 02:08, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
They're gone? Oh, cool. ...Hopefully. I'll check it out, perhaps they did something wrong with the fix. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 09:09, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
Ahhh, crap. The "Contents" headers aren't gone, turns out that when they happen to fall in that exact location, they're completely hidden behind the infobox, along with the header that follows.
It's still not clear to me why that's able to happen at all, but the devs have made no changes. It must be due to some changes I've made, unless it's just something that's been happening all along but we only just noticed. I'll undo one change I made that may be involved, see if that helps any. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 09:28, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
(Insert wince here.) Thank you for figuring out what's going on; it's good to know that the headers aren't entirely gone from display. In this case, is it likely to help if editors temporarily add extra lines in between the intro and the body heading? -- SourceRunner (talk) 19:28, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
No, definitely not, that would only make things worse on desktop.
I've documented the technical details of the issue at my admin-requests page. Though as I note there, despite the page title I haven't actually made any such request to the devs about fixing this, because I'm tired of making those requests only to have them refused/ignored. I'm bitter and pissed off and tired of (not) dealing with them, so the devs can go fuck themselves.
To work around the problem, the best suggestion I can make is to replace the ==Appearance== heading with <h2 style="min-width: 5em;">Appearance</h2>. That should stop it from being obscured on mobile, without affecting the desktop rendering at all. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 20:03, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
Perfect. I'll copy that and adapt for heading text. Will try to figure out which ones are impacted and work on those.
I... know it probably feels like you're shouting into the void, but if it might help to know... You look like a tremendously effective problem-solver, from the outside. Thank you for your hard work. -- SourceRunner (talk) 20:50, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Thanks for that, it is appreciated. It's just frustrating sticking band-aids on these things and having to jump through hoops to fix them the wrong way, simply because we can't get them fixed the right way.
Tick.png Done But, on the subject of band-aids, I've put together a new set of templates to address these issues in two different ways, for both body text and headings. I've already applied the {{h2|Appearance}} fix to the "Appearance" heading at Punk Panther, which should fix up its formatting on mobile. I'll put together a broader announcement about the new templates, along with some more complete documentation, and post that to Talk:Main Page when it's done. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 09:45, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
See the proposed general fix at Talk:Main Page#Fixes for mobile content layout. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 14:44, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

  • Tick.png Done Beerserker edit complete. Fun article! Mildly concerned about image copyrights, though. -- SourceRunner (talk) 21:34, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
  • Beerwolf -- a magnificent picture (many thanks for it) was added by GodOne Of Paradox (U • C • T)  and should be given credit for! --

JanuWiki review assignments

Review completion checklist
In order of importance

On the article's final edit:

  • Remove {{Godwiki event review}}, with an edit summary.
  • Any further comments, explanations, or compliments on the talk page.

Here on Help:Requests:

  • Move request to "Missions accomplished".
  • {{m|done}}; (Tick.png Done;) in "Review assignments".

On JanuWiki 2019#Progress:

On Template:Navbox JanuWiki 2019:

  • Add the completed or picture needed 📷 icon.

Whenever unsure, copy-paste-edit existing examples. If you miss something or mess up something, someone will fix it.

As JanuWiki articles are marked as complete, we'll assign them to each other here. Articles will be assigned to each editor in turn, ensuring no editor is reviewing their own article.

Articles will be considered ready for review if they appear on Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Godwiki event review, or if the author adds it to this page with clear wording that it's finished.

If your review is taking some time, consider adding yourself as editor to the {{Godwiki event review}} template on the page to make it easier for the author to contact you, like so:

{{Godwiki event review|author=Author's name|editor=Editor's name}}

If for any reason you are unable to complete the review, no problem, just remove it from beside your name or assign it to the next editor. If you feel a page requires special skills, put a comment to that effect under #Writing help or #Wiki coding help above, and someone with those skills will self-assign it.
