An unfinished game of poker lays on the only table of this room.

spotted in a recent dungeon... If I can, I'll go back and find the precise wording! ๐Ÿ˜„ I remember the description because I liked it! -- Djonni (talk) 17:14, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

Thanks! Gonna try reading back few chronicles to see if i can find some of my idea there. --WardPhoenix (talk) 19:49, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

Centering and other table stuff ๐Ÿ˜Š

Next step will be find why text align doesn't work on those table — Edit summary

So, I can't be sure exactly what you were trying to center but I can guess, and I can help!

One way to answer is that it isn't always obvious what the text is going to align itself with, as it will often be aligned with itself, which if it's just one line, makes no difference at all. But with your table, it shouldn't be too difficult if we apply the correct style in the correct place!

You can align the โŒ and โœ”๏ธ in their column much more easily. Instead of wrapping them in a <div>...</div>:

|| <div style="text-align:center;">โŒ</div>

you can simply add the style to the enclosing cell of the table:

| style = "text-align: center;" | โŒ

In this case, the text "โŒ" is held inside a <td>...</td> element, which treats the enclosed area as display: inline-table;, and makes any text-align style apply to the entire cell area (making it perform the way you'd expect).

With the {{Ideabox votes}} not centering, it's a similar story, but there's probably a better solution that centering. Firstly:

| style="text-align: center;" | {{ideabox votes|format=mobile|102|11|1|4}}

should work precisely as expected. But in my opinion, the better solution is to not force the width of those narrower central columns. If you simply change this:

! style="width: 46%"|Approved Idea
! style="width: 07%"|Votes
! style="width: 03%"|Confirmed
! style="width: 46%"|In-game version

to this:

! style="width: 50%;" | Approved Idea
! Votes
! Confirmed
! style="width: 50%;" | In-game version

you'll find that the central columns will take up the smallest space they can without clipping the text, and the large outer columns will each take exactly half the remaining space. Your columns will still be aligned, and instead of worrying about centering the vote blocks, the column will fit them perfectly instead:

While double-checking all this in Special:ExpandTemplates to make sure I was giving you accurate advice I've noticed that the padding: 0 2px is causing the vote block to be slightly misaligned by one pixel to the right with respect to the centre of the column and, well, because I'm me, 1px misalignment that shouldn't be there is going to bug me. So a little later I'll try to stop that from happening, so that your columns are pixel-perfectly aligned ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š -- Djonni (talk) 08:08, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

Tick.png Done I don't know exactly why, but it seems that padding is treated differently on the left and right edges. So I've replaced the 2px padding on each element with a 2px box-shadow, which preserves the central and right-hand alignments of the elements in the vote block. ๐Ÿ‘ It should look perfect when centred in columns now. -- Djonni (talk) 08:34, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

Well I hoped we could had the alignment style like the width for a cleaner table, but well, that's CSS quirk I guess. Though your methode will make it slightly cleaner so thanks.
Oh and good job finding that template bug, I didn't even noticed it xD --WardPhoenix (talk) 10:08, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
If you'd like a little more space around the vote blocks for a clean look, you can add some padding: 0.5em; to the table cell (vary padding size to taste):

or to set different horizontal and vertical padding, padding: vertical horizontal;:
