Navbox bosses and your edits to Tombcat, Tinkerhell and Broadbandit

Hi there! :)

Thanks for your edits to those pages! You found a problem I made when I moved the boss-monsters navbox template! I've fixed the problem I caused, so you shouldn't see the double-redirect error on any more Boss pages (the strange 1. Navbox bosses error you saw where you should have seen the navbox).

What you did to fix the error was clever — you went and found the navbox template ({{Navbox bosses}}), and copied and pasted it into the boss pages. So you know, there's a simpler way to do it next time: if you just put {{Navbox bosses}} in the page, it will insert the navbox in that spot. The advantage of doing it that way, as well as being much easier, is that if someone updates the contents of the navbox (as new bosses are added to the game) it'll be updated on every page at once.

Please keep making improvements like what you saw! I'm going to go to Tombcat, Tinkerhell and Broadbandit and replace the copy-pasted navboxes you put there with the code for the template, but I just wanted to leave you this little note so that if you noticed me doing that, you wouldn't think you'd done anything wrong or anything.

If you have any questions or need anything, please just let me know, either by adding me in the game or by replying here or on my talk page :) -- Djonni (talk) 16:17, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

Categorizing boss-monster articles

Just FYI, if an article on a boss-monster uses the {{Monster}} infobox template, another way to add it to Category:Boss-Monsters is just to add |boss=yes to the infobox code at the top.

That'll automatically categorize it, as well as change the title of the infobox and enable some other data. (Primarily |boss-type=, which you can also add if you have that info. It can be set to any one of the valid types from this list.)

For articles with infoboxes, |boss=yes is usually the easier/better way to go, in terms of managing categories. If there's no infobox on the page, then you do still have to do it by hand.

Just wanted to let you know! -- FeRDNYC (talk) 20:40, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

Changes to the Hero template which will affect you

Hi there GodWaaurufu !

You're actively editing this page, so I wanted to tell you about a change we are going to make to Template:Hero which will affect you, instead of just editing your hero's page myself to fix it.

We are fixing an issue with the Hero template that you have already noticed, and worked around. The |god= field linking to the User: page of the god or goddess, and it doesn't. We are shortly going to change this so that it if you set |god=Waaurufu, then the template will correctly link to User:Waaurufu.

However, for you, this will be a problem! On your page at Monmon the Fast you have cleverly set |god=User:Waaurufu, and so the Hero template has a correct link to your God page. There's nothing wrong with that, except that after the change, this will mean that the link will point to the nonsensical User:User:Waaurufu.

The fix, though, is simple. If you simply edit Monmon the Fast so that |god=Waaurufu, then after the change the link will be perfect. In the meantime, however, the hero template will be linking to Waaurufu, which (right now) doesn't exist.

But this is also an easy fix, and one that long term is probably a good idea anyway. If you simply create the page at Waaurufu with exactly the following, and nothing else:

#REDIRECT [[User:Waaurufu]]

If you do this, whenever someone goes to Waaurufu, they will be taken to your page at User:Waaurufu instead.

If you have any questions or need any help with this, please don't hesitate to ask. You can go to our Help:Requests page and ask for help and advice, or you can leave a message directly for me at User talk:Djonni. -- Djonni (talk) 07:28, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
