Archival page

The information on this page is superseded by the April 2018 map update (see Godville Blog, post 113: Map Out). It is preserved here for historical purposes. To read or contribute to the most current information on town features and statistics, see Towns.

The idea of this page is to pool all our information on the towns in Godville. This includes where they are in terms of milestones, and anything special about them. However, since everything here comes from the observations of players, it should not be taken as absolute. If you find something inaccurate on this page, please help to improve the page by correcting it!

Godville

  • Where a hero sets out from.
  • He can be transported here by sending him to the arena or using the portable tunnel item or similar (however, a recent update has made these items teleport the hero to a random town), after which he will begin a new journey without needing to return to his previous milestone count.
  • Sometimes heroes choose to return here to restart their journey during a quest instead of returning to the nearest town. It is unknown why they do this, but it may happen when they are returning to town but have already visited the nearest town on their current journey.
  • Heroes have their temples here, and will sometimes collect an amount of gold, determined by the number of gold bricks they possess (about 1-4 gold per brick), upon visiting. This is after 10% temple completion.
  • The hero's home is here. When they complete a quest they will automatically return here, work on their god's temple and rest. They will also do everything they normally do, unless they arrived with a red (low level) health bar, in which case they will not purchase anything or waste money.

Other theories on towns

  • Could it be that a hero is simply resurrected in the closest town to the place where he died?
  • Some say that the positions of towns are completely random and the milestone count is quite simply how far the hero has to go to return to Godville.
  • In relation to the above point, it seems a town's entrance point encompasses 3 - 4 milestones, for example a hero could possibly enter Tradeburg at Milestones 98 - 101.
