Talk:Duel Chronicle

First and foremost, I would like to thank Ser Moerder for creating this article. The wiki depends on generous gods to add valuable content. Keep up the outstanding submissions. Moreover, don’t be overly concerned about fulfilling the nit-picky technical stuff.

I moved the content of the Duel log article to this page because (I believe) “Duel Chronicle” is the official name for this subject. If a user follows the web link to a last fight log, the page will be titled “Duel Chronicle.” Additionally, the bottom of the page has the language “This duel chronicle is available for 3 days after the fight is over. “ The fact that the page refers to itself as a “duel chronicle” is compelling as to its official name. Furthermore, the blog calls the documentation of the duel a duel chronicle: "All duel fights now have a special link, which can be used to the share the duel chronicle with other gods." source

I also considered the following titles, but dismissed them for the reasons mentioned below:

  • Duel log - This is the title of the original wiki article. Unfortunately, I could not find one official (blog or in-game) reference to this term. I understand that this is the common term used by players, but colloquialism should not determine the official wiki title.
  • Fight Log – This was the second place title. The Wins/Losses link provides an option to click “last fight log”. Unfortunately, upon arrival at that link, there is no reference to the phrase “fight log”. Like Duel log, this is also a commonly used phrase, but not official.
  • Duel fight – this is the term used in the blog: “All duel fights now have a special link, which can be used to the share the duel chronicle with other gods. We’ve come up with at least 4 ways of using it and wonder how many uses you will find for it!” The blog makes it clear that the fight is called a “duel fight”, but the documentation of that fight is called a “duel chronicle”.
  • Fight Journal – The fight journal is a PART of the Duel Chronicle. If using the website, the Fight Journal appears In the middle of the Duel Chronicle. The fight journal contains the play by play of the duel. Other parts of the duel chronicle are the information on the Heroes (Hero, Hero’s Stats, Inventory, Equipment).
  • Last Fight Log – this term is used on the Fights History page (after clicking Wins/Losses). This wiki article should be more inclusive than ONLY discussing a hero’s LAST fight. Rather it should include the whole documentation of fights/duels.
  • Chronicle of the Last Fight – this is the title of the page after clicking “last fight log”, but before clicking the “link” at the top of the page. This wiki article should be more inclusive than ONLY discussing a hero’s last fight. Rather it should include the whole documentation of fights.

To guarantee that people will see this page, I have created pages for all the above mentioned terms and added redirects to this page. Typing any of the terms for fight log will automatically direct a person to this page.

Thank you for reading the most lengthy explanation I have ever written. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggested changes on titling of this page, please add them here and send me an in game message. If you would like to edit this page, feel free to do so.

Thank you for the extra work you have put into this Blue stapler. I chose the title duel log due to the url even though that was duels/log. Good thinking on the redirects too. It was also silly of me to forget the category stamp. ~Der Moerder. Ps. I find it odd that I do most of my edits on an alt.

03/07/12 06:15PM "Last fight log (...game.com/hero/last_fight)","The log of the last fight still looks like the outdated hero page. The link should be changed to ...game.com/superhero/last_fight and it should use the smooth color theme of the super hero page." ~Fred Flintstone/DerMoerder
